character.
name: Lilo Pelekai nickname(s): Lilo, weird girl pb:SelenaGomez fairy tale & character: Lilo and Stitch / Lilo Pelekai age: 15. room: A118 / Room mates with Charlotte Usher charlotteusher doctor: Doctor House diagnosis: Severe Delusional Disorder, Separation Anxiety Disorder, Folie à deux personality: Eccentric, and completely misunderstood is the best way to describe Lilo. She's a bit hot-headed, and extremely unpredictable. She follows things to the beat of her own eccentric drum and not many people have the guts to question her for fear of receiving a cheeky comment, or sob story just to guilt them into apologizing. Being witty, and outspoken makes her an extrovert most of the time, but when it comes to expressing real true feelings she tends to lash out and get ruthless with her verbal attacks and then become introverted. Despite all the bark within her Lilo makes up for it by being incredibly loyal to her true friends and family, and being there whenever someone needs a helping hand.
Lilo is outgoing. Her emotions are stirred by sympathy and heart rendering stories. In fact, she can be kind, friendly, affectionate and considerate of others. She has the ability to put herself into the other person's shoes. Lilo will be somewhat moody, with highs and lows. Sometimes she will be happy, the next day she might be sad. She has the unique ability to get along equally well with introverts and extroverts. She understands the needs of both types. She doesn't sway too far one way or the other. When convincing her to buy a product or an idea, a heart rendering story could mean a great deal to her.Lilo is an expressive person. She outwardly shows her emotions. She may even show traces of tears when hearing a sad story.
She has a certain and bizarre obsession of taking pictures of over weight tourists, and living in Hawai'i the majority of her life, there is never a shortage of over-weight tourists. Her "hobbies" and very eccentric antics usually maks her an outcast, but if shown at least a small bit of compassion she will attach to that like a leech, and usually drain the person of their tolerance for her.
history: Lilo Pelekai was born and raised in Kaua'i, Hawai'i. A full blooded Hawaiian, Lilo grew up on the beach, learning to swim well before learning to walk. Her mother was an acomplished hula dancer, which instantly set a goal for Lilo's life. However, one stormy night, at a very young age of five Lilo remembers waking up to a loud knock at the door of their beachside house. Nani, her older sister, went to answer the door, confused and a bit concerned, Lilo followed along to find out what was wrong. Listening at the doorway, Lilo learned that her parents died in a tragic car accident while the roads were very slick.
Heartbroken, Lilo swallowed her sorrow down to comfort Nani who was weeping hysterically. Hugging her sister, Nani outwardly expressed her concern as to what would happen to them. Lilo just comforted her, and told her that they were an ohana, and ohana means family, family means no body gets left behind... or forgotten. At Lilo's inspiring words, Nani promised to take care of Lilo instead of sending her to a foster home.
Many social workers protested this considering Nani was barely out of high school, and didn't have a job. But proving herself time and time again, Nani found a job at a touristy mock-luau restaraunt as a waitress, and was even able to place Lilo back in hula classes. Considering Lilo was so young, she was barely in school at the time, so she brought Lilo to work with her most of the time where the girl would make up stories about the customers sitting around, and even the owner - who happened to be the leader of a vampire clan, and was constantly trying to lure Nani into his group.
As Lilo got older, her imagination grew bigger, and as her imagination grew bigger her group of friends grew smaller. Many of them saw her as an outcast, that weird girl who liked to pick fights, and make up stories. By the age of ten she was beating up girls in her hula class for calling her "weird", and treating her differently. Most of the time Nani was stuck having to come pick her up. One time in particular after she bit a girl named Myrtle for calling her weird, Lilo tried to make amends and asked if they wanted to play dolls together. Rather rudely, Myrtle and her friends sneered and said she didn't have a doll, to which Lilo pulled out a worn in and rumpled green stuffed thing. All the girls recoiled in disgust, considering the doll didn't look like their barbies, and ran off as Lilo was still explaining that her head looked bloated because a bug laid eggs in it.
Distraught, Lilo went home to wallow in her own depression. Nailing the door shut, she blasted Elvis to make her feel better. What she didn't know was that it was the day that Lilo would be assigned a new social worker. Nani, leaving work early went to pick up Lilo from hula classes to find that her sister wasn't there. Knowing exactly where she went, she ran home practically getting run over by a car. Kicking it and shouting an obscenity, she kept running to home to find she couldn't open the door. Sticking her head through the doggy door, she saw Lilo lying on the floor, just staring at the ceiling, and blasting Elvis. Yelling at her to open the door, that they didn't have time to act like this the social worker was going to be there any minute. Lilo just turned up the music to drown out Nani's voice, frustrated her grabbed the hammer that was near the door and began to pull out the nails, while threatening Lilo to chop her up, put her in a blender, and bake her and serve her to the social worker. In the midst of her shouting, she didn't hear the social worker pull up until she was being tapped on the leg.
Scrambling out of the doggy door and to her feet she found herself face to face with a.... large, and intimidating man who introduced himself as the new social worker, Cobra Bubbles. Completely embarassed, Nani ushered him to the back door to get into the house, just to find it locked... so she was stuck breaking a window and getting into the house that way. As Nani made her way through the kitchen Lilo crept into the room as well, looking at the new social worker. As the man introduced himself, Lilo made note of the tattoo on his knuckles saying "Cobra". After a painful interview to which Lilo basically made up a story that Nani beat her with bricks in a pillow case five times a week, Mister Bubbles was less than impressed. Promising that he would keep tabs on them, he left.
In a wave of fury, Nani began to yell at Lilo, asking her why she couldn't just do what she was told. At one point, Nani said she was such a pain, to which Lilo began to cry and say she would be better off with a rabbit. Nani then shouted that at least a rabbit would behave better than her, to which Lilo shouted that the rabbit would run away because she's a horrible sister. Dashing up the stairs, Lilo locked herself in her room. Later that evening, Nani came upstairs to make amends and offer pizza as a peace offering. Quietly, Lilo asked if they were a broken family, to which Nani said yes, and Lilo told her that she makes a better sister than mother. Sobbing, she asked if Nani liked her better than a rabbit, cuddling her, Nani consoled her and told her she wasn't. Comforting her, they both sat on her bed, looking out at the window at the stars. What they didn't know was that it was a meteor shower that night. Catching sight of a falling star, Lilo scrambled out of bed, and shoved Nani out of her room to make a wish.
After "gravity" began crashing down on Nani like it does every night, Lilo managed to get Nani out, and kneeled at her bed to make a wish. Asking "Dear God, I wish for a friend, someone who is nice, and wont steal my things... maybe an Angel...", what Lilo didn't know was that Nani was listening to her request. Heartbroken, she decided to take Lilo to the dog pound the next day.
The next day Nani took Lilo to the dog pound to adopt a dog, while looking through the cages Lilo came across a boy hiding behind one of the bins. A bit curious as to why a boy was hiding in a dog pound, Lilo decided he must be a dog. Calling him Stitch, Lilo presented him to Nani and told her that was the dog she wanted. Nani was a bit concerned at seeing a dirty, boy no more than two years older than Lilo hiding in a dog pound. The woman behind the counter couldn't understand it either, and after fighting with Lilo about taking him home, Nani threw up her hands in desperation, and allowed it. Of course contacting social services in the meanwhile.
After that time, Lilo and her "dog" Stitch were inseparable... it was soon evident, however, that "Stitch" was not the model citizen that was expected of him. Whenever they went to Nani's work, Stitch would get yelled at for being rude to the customers. In public, he would randomly shove people, and harass them. Soon, Nani was worried for how Stitch was going to make her look in Mr. Bubbles eyes. The final straw was when Stitch bit another customer, which ultimately got Nani fired.
Lilo constantly defended her "pet" saying that he was just a baby, and troubled. As Nani tried to throw Stitch out, Lilo used Ohana against her, saying that he was family, and no one gets left behind or forgotten. Nani was defeated at hearing that, and allowed Stitch to stay with them. However, the next day, Mr. Bubbles showed up at their home and told Nani she had to find a job, or Lilo would be taken away. Stitch, having recognized Bubbles as a social worker, went to attack him. Mr. Bubbles, confused asked who the boy was, Nani said it was just a friend of Lilo's, but Lilo blurted out that he was her "pet". Mr. Bubbles looked confused at Lilo, but decided to play along, telling her that she needed to teach her "pet" to be a model citizen or else.
Lilo and Stitch began to grow closer and closer to the point where if they were separated one or the other would have a panic attack, and lash out. The two of them began to pretend that Stitch was actually an alien from another planet. Created by a giant four eyed mad scientist to destory big cities, and steal everyone's left shoe. Stitch loved this game that Lilo created, and would never stray from his role as the alien pet.
As they got older, Nani became incresingly worried about Lilo and Stitch's relationship, since neither of them wanted to drop the idea that he was an alien, and that his brothers and sisters were loose around the island. As Lilo went into high school, Nani realized that it would be hard for Stitch to go to high school due to the fact that he really wasn't their child. Pulling some string with the social service department, Nani was able to gain custody of Stitch, and he officially became a member of the family.
Within in High School is was evident that Lilo didn't fit in, still holding on to her eccentric beliefs, many of the students began to make fun of her, and mock her for calling Stitch her pet dog, and saying he was an alien. It wasn't until one boy harassed her so much, that Stitch ended up coming to her rescue. The two of them called the older boy Captain Gantu, and pictured him a massive alien with a head like a shark. As "Captain Gantu" continued to make fun of them, and pick on Lilo, Stitch got more and more angry at the older boy, to the point where one day, when Captain Gantu was holding Lilo by her collar, and shaking her about, and making fun of her small size, Stitch had to react. Lashing out at the larger boy, Stitch showed a fury that even Lilo had never seen.
After the fight the cops were called, Captain Gantu was badly injured, and Stitch was taken in for questioning. Lilo was devastated, waiting at the police station with Nani they waited to find out what would be the decision with Stitch. However, what shocked Nani was when the officer asked to speak to Lilo. Taken into a room, the officer sat her down, and told her that he was concerned for both her and the safety of Stitch. Lilo looked confused at the officer as the man opened the door to allow Mr Bubbles to enter and a sobbing Nani. As Mr. Bubbles explained to her that she was going to be taken a special hospital for children like her, Lilo's first concern was if Stitch would be coming to. As Mr Bubbles told her no, Lilo broke down, sobbing and begging to see her pet. Two men dressed in white suits came in as well to subdue the young girl, and escort her to the local hospital before they would board her on a plane to head for the main land of the US and be taken half way across the globe to New England where she would be admitted to a hospital called Cheshire Crossing to work on her delusions, and separation anxiety.
examples: Dear Journal,
I miss Stitch. I hope he is all right.... I know the Grand Council Woman will be kind and understanding when sentencing him.
I took some interesting pictures before leaving Kaua'i. The nurse here -- who I think is secretly a blob monster who stole an innocent woman's skin, and is trying to cram herself into it. She always has nasty green stuff hanging from her nose... and her clothes and skin look like it's ready to BURST! -- got them developed for me.
Aren't they beautiful? Nani thinks it's weird that I take pictures of tourists... but they just look so amusing. Who knows? Maybe one day one them wont show up in the picture, then I'll definitely know that vampires are taking over Hawai'i!!
